All the women who are nude are Japanese and not Chinese

I noticed this fact as the credits were rolling at the end. It makes sense. In my extensive travels to Asia, Japan, while a reserved society, however, is very open about their sexuality. For instance, homosexuality or being transgender does not hold the stigma that it does in most parts of Asia. In fact, many Asians who wanted a sex operation used to go to Japan to get the procedure done because such things were not allowed in their country or no one was offering it. If you go to popular clubs in Tokyo, you will see transsexuals/transgender from different parts of Asia such as Chinese, Korean, and South East Asians.

If you go to their magazine/book shops, you will see manga or what we in the West might consider comic strips or books that are sexually graphic with story lines such as rape to incest. The first time I saw that, I was stunned. But my Japanese friend told me that this is OK and that there are restrictions on who they can sell it to and stuff. If such things were sold in mainstream bookshops here like Barnes & Noble, you will quickly see anti-porn demonstrations from your local community groups.

Their porn industry is as mature as that in the US although they have a bizarre law which requires that genitals must be censored. However, there are plenty of "illegal" porn that are produced without any genital censorship. Japan is truly a country of contradiction.

That bizarre law is a legacy of the General MacArthur's administration of Japan.

During the Japanese occupation after the end of WWII, probably a lot of sexual activity (both consenting and non-consenting types) going on between the occupiers and occupied. It might have been an attempt to clamp down on pornographic material.
