Scott is such a tool.

What kind of d-bag eats with his knife?

Like how a single word
Can make a heart open.
This is my fight song.

reply

The same kind of D-Bag who declares himself "king" of a food your average 12 year-old knows how to make.

It takes a lot for a judge to stand out as the most obnoxious and self-important sanctimonious douchebag in a show full of obnoxious and self-important sanctimonious douchebags, e.g., Alex Guarnaschelli, Geoffrey Zakarian, and Scott Conant easily out-douches them all.

reply

God forbid someone uses RAW RED ONIONS.

reply

He *hates* Onions!! :D just don't eat them. It's not that hard. I roll my eyes when he brings it up especially when a Dish calls for them.

~Keep on Trucking!~

reply

Exactly! Stop complaining about the onions! If everything about the dish is cooked wonderfully, he'll still complain about the onions! Just don't eat them, a chef shouldn't have to avoid putting an ingredient in a recipe because a judge is a baby and hates the ingredient.

reply

I agree. It drives me nuts when the judges eat certain dishes with a knife and fork and just don't pick the damn thing up and eat it. Tacos, flatbreads, etc...anything of that nature, they just pick at it with their utensils. It's incredibly pretentious. Most of them even eat crostini and sandwiches with picking at the stuff inside or on top with a fork and don't even eat it with their hands.

Scott freaked when one guy broke his spaghetti noodles in half.
He asked, "What did those noodles ever do to you?" The guy explained that he feeds little kids and they could eat it better that way. So, he got used to breaking the noodles.
IMO, I don't think it's a mortal sin to break them. I do when I make spaghetti and meatballs. It's easier to twirl without getting a mountain of noodles wrapped around my fork.
I'm not Italian or Queen of pasta, so.......

reply

Yeah, all that should matter is how it tastes and looks in the end. Pasta is a versatile food. It doesn't have to be made one way all the time.

he got on my nerves when he bullied a chef for picking of their fish with tongs. He said they disrespected the fish. If I remember correctly,I think the chef had cut their hand and didn't want to get blood on the food so they used tongs in order to get it on the plate in time; or something like that. What makes Scott's preaching so douche-worthy is, he actually loved the fish and said it was cooked perfectly just before he chewed them out.

He's too childish and delicate to be a judge. He enjoys making people feel bad.

reply

I agree. If tongs get the job done.
Besides, the fish doesn't care about respect. It's dead. And, it's a fish.

reply

Exactly, and just think how your mouth is going to disrepect the fish once you start shoving it in your face. Lol

reply

Lol. I agree.
