Did Rupaul tell the queens to come up with a method to eliminate?

I think I missed something. What is the point of the top 2 talking to the bottom 2 about their possible elimination? Did Rupaul tell the queens they had to all be in agreement on who should go home? Are the winners of the challenge supposed to negotiate with the potentially elimated queens? Also, what could a queen say that would waver a deciding queen's decision?

So far, not much! No Queen seems to have taken the other Queens' opinions into consideration. Alyssa didn't send home Katya because she thought Katya had more to give despite the fact that Katya looked dejected and resigned.

This is why I think it was really *beep* of Detox to tell PhiPhi that she was being rude not to have a one-to-one with the bottom Queens. It's none of Detox's business how Phi Phi chooses to make up her mind and a stilted and pointless conversation would make no difference. Phi Phi, in my opinion, was well within her rights to send Alyssa packing and not discuss it with anyone. I also think it was rude of the producers to put that final section of Phi Phi ripping into Alyssa.

I think Phi Phi's heart is in the right place but she just doesn't get how to be smart about these things. The producers totally took advantage of that by including her rant. How many queens in the past have said exactly what Phi Phi was saying? That if they were to walk down the runway looking busted, they'd be sent home? It was true. Alyssa gets by a lot on personality and in this challenge she failed in both the acting and runway. It's a competition and someone has to go. Should it have been Roxxxy because she was in the bottom three two weeks ago and had a weak performance? Or Katya because she was in the bottom the week before and had a weak runway? Or should it be the one who mucked up both parts of that challenge and should that be the ONLY criteria for sending someone home?

Rupaul didn't tell them that they had to stick to a system, that was their decision so that they wouldn't feel so bad about sending someone home. Alyssa wasn't keen on it (and why should she be?). She had the opportunity to keep someone in the competition that she respected and made a tough call. Phi Phi was right to be nervous. Phi Phi is also an idiot. She doesn't seem to get that if she wants the public to change their opinion, it's not about winning the challenges, it's about being NICE and selfless. She's far too concerned about "Not getting to show the real me" when all she's doing is projecting an image of herself that she apparently hates and that landed her a lot of bother last time around.

So far, I think the selections have been ok; even with the reasoning! Katya dodged a bullet, but she did have 1 bad day! Ginger's no all-star even though rather talented with her drag! 

Thank you! I was sitting here thinking, "What's so bitchy about that?" PhiPhi said she was going to listen to the critiques and go by that. What's wrong with not sitting down with each queen and asking them, "Why should I save you?" I decided when this season started that I was gong to give PhiPhi the benefit of the doubt this season (I hated her before) and I find I am sort of liking her this time around. I can't help noticing that others are taking everything she says and does in the worst possible way. Others commented on how big Ginger's dress was for the Herstory challenge, but when PhiPhi does it she is trying to psych her out and is being a bitch. She stated a fact. I don't claim to know what she meant, but to me it seemed like a simple fact stated in a possibly sympathetic manner, like, "Wow, they stuck you with that. That's too bad."

It wouldn't have hurt PhiPhi to talk separately with the girls. At the very least, it would shown a softer side of her, something that she's claiming she wants everyone to see but hasn't really shown yet.

An opportunity presented itself and she had to PhiPhi it up.

If she had done the one to one thing and had shown any sympathy to the bottom queens, people would be calling her phony and saying, "She'd already made up her mind to get rid of Alyssa. Blah, blah, blah..."

Michelle did beat up Alyssa so it made sense to me! I prefer Katya, but she's had a couple bad days! ;-/

That was such B.S. The Joan Crawford role given to Alyssa was a non-role, a paralyzed, broke woman while Alaska was given the hammier Bette Davis role with more lines.

reply

Maybe, but the same thing could have happened with Phi Phi & Roxxxy! One had the hammier role, but didn't get the kudos; Phi Phi overacted Roxxxy! 

Even if you don't have the hammier role you have to be heard and she wasn't and you still have to do what the role calls for and she didn't do it well.

The challenges are always set like that, though. Remember Ginger Snap in the Ruco's Empire challenge? Both Derrick and Cynthia failed yet that role was written horribly. How CAN you make it better? Joan's part in WHTBJ is fantastic because she plays the suffering, quiet and mousy sister only for it to be revealed that she's the reason they're both in that mess. Alyssa got the role but she didn't get the pay off. However, watching it, Alyssa also struggled to convince as the broken sister and it showed against Alaska who was really something else.
