No New Nations in SF IV?

Super Street Fighter II contained four new nations unique to the SF Universe:

Cammy- UK
Fei Long - Hong Kong
Dee Jay- Jamaica
T.Hawk - Mexico

In Street Fighter IV it contains no new nations:

C.Viper - USA
Abel - France
El Fuerte - Mexico
Rufus - USA

My complaint to Capcom is that they didn't introduce more new nations!

Yep, Abel's the first and only French character, and since Super SF II, the Hong kong and Russian flags have been updated (if that counts).

reply

I love how there can't be at least 1 character representing Canada.

reply

Yeah,

In SF III Remy is French.

And you're right Cammy isn't the first Brit, but you know what I mean...

There should be new countries...

What are you talking about? SF III was the BEST in the series and it only had Ken and Ryu from the past SF's. Chun-Li and Akuma as well if you count 3rd Strike.

So what new nations would you like to see?

I see Ireland, Canada, South Korea and Australia as a big possibility.

reply

[deleted]

Quite with you there, but I believe fighting styles should be with their home nations, like tae kwon do for a South Korean fighter, but your idea sounds rather interesting.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams- Eleanor Roosevelt.

reply

The Vampire games had Canada and Australia, plus Scotland and Romania. I always thought that if they ever made another one, they should have a leprechaun character from Ireland.

I'm going to shove coal so far up your stocking you'll be coughing up diamonds!

You guys can just pretend Abel's half French-Canadian or something can't you?

Same with 3rd Strike's Remy!

But yeah it raise's an interesting point. Nearly 20 years after Street Fighter 2 made a massive fighting game genre explode and revolutionized fighting games and still no Canadian fighter yet?

Damn.

I wouldn't omit the entire SFII cast, I'm saying four new characters should've been more international.

They would have a character from Israel. That would be something new.

Or how about more characters from the world's largest continent, Asia.
Perhaps a Punjabi Pehalwan like Maula Jut or traditional Iranian wrestler like Rustom.
