Nathalie X

This 2003 film was the basis for CHLOE.

Upon watching it last night, I was left with a few thoughts.

Firstly, the interaction between Catherine and the younger woman (named Nathalie) is very intense. There is an implied sexual relationship by the end but nothing is shown, nor Nathalie goes after the family seeking to confront the doctor.

However, I thought Julianne's character was better developed and the son subplot (non-existent in the French one) added to the adaptation.

The husband in the original is cheating initially, there is no doubt from Catherine about it, but he is different from David, he seems to want to reignite their love since the beginning.

Emmanuelle Béart is amazing as the prostitute, I think Amanda observed some of her acting to build her character, but the tragic ending in CHLOE moved me more than the bland ending in NATHALIE X.

Overall, I like CHLOE better for Amanda's acting and it being clear she was into Catherine.
It wasn't subtle like in the first film.

Any thoughts?
