Stupid people

I really liked this movie and I'm annoyed at the stupid people complaining about the ending. Just because you don't get an ending straight away doesn't make it a bad ending. Why is it that some people need everything explained? Use your brains, people! ;)

Okay. (I'll probably regret this...)

I get that you think that some people are stupid, but what exactly do you think about the ending?

I understood the ending. Unlike some rather... dim people I actually understood all the symbolism and imagery and didn't have to wonder why she slept with the song and all that. I did however think it was a stupid ending and a confused movie. Just becuase its inundated with symbolism doesn't mean it makes sense that it happened that way. Intent and execution are two separate things. I think the movie lost pretty much all its meaning after Chloe and Catherine slept together. From then on the movie just felt wasted to me. Predictable yet lacking in exposition, excessive without having value.

You don't specify what symbolism you saw.

The symbolism that I detect makes the ending perfect. It has meaning.

Catherine was looking to reconnect with her husband, but what she found was a spiritual love.

How does Christian symbolism invalidate the ending?

I think Chloe pays the price for Catherine's sins. Catherine is manipulating and controlling -- that's not love. Chloe shares her light and grace with Catherine and Michael, but not with David, who is the darkness.
