The people on the street who knew him only as Fredo

That bummed me out. I'm a huge Godfather fan, and I've always known John Cazale as John Cazale.

Yeah, it's sad when the filmmakers edit out the people (like us) who might've said something like "Hey, that's my favorite actor!" or similar.

The world is full of obliviots, though. I bet you could get the same footage of people looking at a photo of many great actors. How many "average citizens" these days would recognize, say, Barbara Stanwyck?

I also have always known who John Cazale was, and it was beyond great to finally see this documentary. As someone said, LONG overdue.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

My acting for tv and film class watched this today. And me and another guy were the only two who knew who he was. It's a great film.

Damn shame how few people even know who he is. And people who have seen his films, many of them still have no idea really. They don't know that he died before he really reached his full potential in his film career.

I've not even seen this yet. I was just thinking about John Cazale for some reason, and I thought to myself "Man I bet he's got hardly anythin' on his page", I was wondering if he had ever done tv (one episode of NYPD which incidentally I have to watch now), anyway I found this and I was exhilerated to see that something like this has been made at last.

I'm really excited to find out more about him from this. I know that Al Pacino was incredibly good friends with him, and that Meryl Streep was engaged to him when he died, but I've never heard any of them talk about him. Plus, it has other favourite actors in it like Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sam Rockwell!

If you see this on DVD with the director's commentary, he finds out that Streep and Cazale were never actually engaged.

The fact is a lot of people do know him as Fredo and less people recall him as John Cazale.

Its that man again!!
