what rating did you give?

hmm what do you consider when you rate this movie? there is no much plot or acting talent so the amount of gore? i gave this movie a 6 cause i love horror movies -true that this is rather a snuff movie- and bloody scenes. a good story would have been good to match. SPOILER the end when the cut off head bites the neck was ridiculus

i only gave it a 5 . Not because i think its rubbish but because it just served no purpose or had no storyline. It was very well made and very disturbing but it just had no substance. i didn't see the point in it and to be honest it was a bit sick because virtually the entire movie is just relentless torture scenes. if it had a decent storyline i would rate it higher

I gave it 3 because I found it pretty dull. I watched it through just for the immature self-righteousness of having watched a banned movie. The ending pleased me greatly though; a much-needed scene of unintentional comedy. Without that scene, it would have been possibly a two, because the actors were good, but I hated the filming, editing, the sound was awful, and the torture scenes didn't seem to convey very much discomfort to me. For example, the Saw films convey it brilliantly through frantic bursts of jump-cuts, and imaginative sound design. I'm not trying to sound like a tough guy, but I found it boring.

Anyone who suggests that I am immoral, deranged, etc, etc must remember that this is a fictional film.

8 because it was a real good comedy.

2. It's a just a bad movie in every sense, regardless of horror/effects or torture.

2/10. I watched it because I'd recently seen another of the director's films, the excellent Noroi. This film was hugely disappointing. There are films that disgust me, such as Irreversible and Martyrs, but they have philosophical points to make, not to mention artistic and aesthetic accomplishment. Grotesque, on the other hand, seemed just like a prurient excercise lowest common denominator torture; a lazy, cynical grasp for notoriety.

The rating of 2 as opposed to 1 was due to a general ok level of technical proficiency and because the ending that you mentioned was slightly funny and offered some levity to end the film on.

'7'. The story DID have a plot - even if it wasn't revealed in the beginning.

A six. Surprised I could even find this on Amazon Instant Video. It really doesn't have a point other then to be a mean, ugly film with some fetish shoved down our throats but I like these kinds of movies (if they are well made).

5/10
the film lost points to me in the ending (the flying head)

No substance and the flying head at the end= 3/10 and I'm being generous.
