wasnt that bad
with a bigger budget it could have been something.
shareHalf our locations fell through at the last minute and we shot most of it for $10k NZ - $5k USD. So was a tough film to shoot.
Logan
Sorry to say, really, but the history of movie was like a mix other one... it reminds me dawn of the dead (remake), 28 days later... and watching so many movies (horror one too) I realized that I still prefer to watch at one scene where there are corpses on the ground, messed stuff, that just totally empty streets (btw, in a scene I saw a car moving on background ;)
shareThere's plenty of zombies driving cars and wondering around shopping in the background :) It's a nice touch.
share I thought it was a good film overall. It was more fun to watch and better done than many of high-budget movies to hit in the last couple of years. I can solidly say that I'd rather watch this than 'I Am Legend'.
I wasn't a big fan of the ending tough, as it seemed more to just taper out than actually come to a resolution. I'm old-fashioned that way.
great movie man, its the kinda movie I'd want to do. Survivors kicking it.
shareI enjoyed the film. Wasnt bad at all.
shareYou shot it for 5 grand US? Holy smokes. That can't include post production. What camera did you shoot it on? Hell of a job.
How did you shoot with those city streets empty? There weren't even any parked cars on the streets.
Christmas morning 2 years in a row we filmed on the city streets. The city was dead empty.
Got pulled over by the cops the 2nd year driving the car through the center of town - luckily they let us off with a warning.
Shot the whole thing on a Canon XLH1 HDV camera with 35mm lens adapter.

Great job with the movie man. I really enjoyed seeing it and nice job with it being your first movie.
Cant wait for the sequal.
I think the criticisms of this film are way too harsh. The budget limitations I think are part of its strengths. It has that Mad Max, Omega Man feel to it. I love the scene where Morgan is phoning up girls he knew by looking them up in the telephone book. Priceless!
I really quite liked it. I like that the pace kind of built up and you got to know the characters. The only thing I didn't understand was why the zombies mostly shambled and walked in the first half of the movie (Romero-style), and started running ala Zack Snyder's 'Dawn Of The Dead' starting at the airport scene.
Great job and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
cos the virus was evolving. mutating them even more, given them strength and speed
these snashberrys taste like snashberrys
Second'd! Great for a low budget, 6-7 compared to the best zombie films with 10. NotLD/DotD
shareI went into this expecting it to be bad and, honestly, I had to force myself through the first 10-15 minutes. However, after about 30 minutes I really started to enjoy it, like the characters, and get the vibe. Excellent work with such a small budget!
Also, the actors did an excellent job.
