I came across the preview for "Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus" on my cable system's On Demand over the weekend. I had seen it before on YouTube so I said to my son (who's 6), "dude, come here, you gotta see this!" - he laughed like crazy when the shark jumped out of the water and attacked the airliner. He made me play it for him twice.

Anyway, later that afternoon I heard him running around upstairs with his two year old brother, so I went up there to see what all the noise was about... and found them playing "Shark Against Octopus" - my older boy was waving a rubber shark around while the two year old chased him with a Beanie Baby octopus. They were having a blast!

Seriously, it was freakin adorable. I wish I'd had my video camera handy, I could've taped it ...who knows, maybe the Asylum could've used their improv dialog ("Oh nooooo! Look out! It's a giant shark!" "AAAAAAHHH! Octopus!") in the inevitable sequel.

Great post IMHO
It's funny how kids can react to this kind of movie. Back then I was like that... I guess...

If I had a toy shark and octopus, I would totally play that game myself!
Honestly, I'm 30 years old now, but I still remember, vividly, when I used to play stuff like that.... sure makes you miss the good old days. Great story man, made me warm inside.

I agree. Because of the OP's name i think of the kids with mullets and Iron Maiden T-shirts and its even more funny.

My older boy loves old Godzilla and Gamera movies...if you consider them "B-grade"
