I'm not saying it compares to the original, but I think it's familiar enough with alot of the same characters while bringing some new storylines
I'm disapointed it wasn't renewed but think 99% of it had to do with the female lead- she was like an unlucky female version of JD with no Turk....

I thought it was still pretty funny and don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be

I thought it was an absolute disgrace to the seasons that came before. The intern cast from season 8 was a mistake so giving them the entire show was a horrid idea but the studio did it because they could pay them next to nothing and probably make money because the audience would probably stand by the show for at least half the season.
From moment one season 9 wasn't funny. A couple JD moments were decent but even those weren't as good as previous seasons. It's like they forgot how to write the character.
I kept hearing how awful it was, but when I finally got around to watching it I really enjoyed it.
