It makes total sense that Matt fires people the way he does

REHAB is just a sunday party. one day of the week. The pool is "regular" all the other days. Maybe they have smaller "party" days, on Saturday and Monday. But SUNDAY is REHAB day at the hard rock LV.

Considering the summer season only runs a few months, that means rehab only takes place a dozen or maybe 2 dozen times each year.

If you can't handle a single day perfectly, you deserve to get fired. And he doesn't even always fire people for that first snafu.

To someone who doesn't realize that REHAB is once per week only during hte summer season, it seems absurd. But with the facts, it isn't all that bad.

You're probably right...but Matt is still a annoying. I used to like this show when it was simple and only had "drama" when it came to the customers. All this "drama" between the staff is a joke, totally scripted or at least coerced...yadda - yadda - yadda Matt yells Sharon yells the girls bicker... I just like to watch with the sound off...

I agree, i'm not saying he isn't a jerk, but i'm just sayin, any reasonable manager would fire people under this schedule/circumstance.

When you fire people for performance issues, then the responsibility lies with Matt and the training staff. Presumably Matt does the hiring, so he has to own up to the mistakes he's made that has lead to having to fire someone and thus totally waste all the money it cost to hire and train someone.

If someone "can't handle" a particular shift or station, then the whoever put that person in that station or scheduled them on that shift is at fault.

The entire point of training someone is to make sure they can handle the job. If someone makes it through training and can't handle the job, then that is Matt and his training staff's fault.

Jonae has demonstrated that she has not learned the POS system (the cash register), she also gets overwhelmed because she doesn't know how to consolidate her her steps. If she is going back to get something for one "cabana", she should make sure that the other cabanas don't also need something that she could order and/or bring back as well.

These are basic Service 101 type things and apply no matter if you are working at IHOP or Rehab. The management should be monitoring weak links to help minimize problems.

Every person fired for performance issues is money straight out of the bottom line and thus reflects back on Matt who runs around a lot but manages to miss many service related issues. I know it's "reality tv" so it's not like real life, but if it was for real, Matt would be fired, or demoted, or sent to a location with far less volume so he can demonstrate he can work smarter not harder.

This isn't 9-5 corporate job. This is once-a-Sunday-Summers-only REHAB. I get what you're saying, but I don't think REHAB runs that way. It's gogogogo and if you can't hang, boom you're outta there. I'm sure its next to impossible to get a job there anyway, probably have to know someone to get in, or have worked at the hotel in some other capacity prior.
