Loved the first 2 arcs, but not the 3rd *spoilers*

I had really hoped that Reiji and Cal would have made a sort of family unit together, but not to be. What I found unbelievable was how in 2 years Cal grew up so much + became Phantom. Just couldn't buy it. Also how did Reiji & Eren keep up their Phantom skills while being civilians in Japan? Also why would Scythe Master come to them and risk death? At least MacGuire had enough sense to stay in his hotel suite.
