Script-Dialogue Between Guy and Romy

I loved the script in this movie, especially the conversations between Romy and Guy. Also between Erin and Romy.

When the friends would spar back and forth with sarcasm and humor it reminded me of the way my friends and I talk. Not the very heavily scripted "movie speak" of Hollywood films that I am so used to hearing... It was so refreshing!

I enjoyed this movie as well and thought most of the dialogue was very good. The screenwriter is from my hometown and I read in the newspaper today that the budget for this film was only $42,000. Truly amazing.

Wow! To push through a production on that budget is incredible. I am from Canada also and it is nice to see Canadian artists involved in projects that are so well done.

Canadians don't have humour, without the u.

reply

Canada has a queen because certain large segments of our population see themselves primarily as British first. Fortunately, this is diminishing.

It's a shame Canada could not have decisively separated from the UK in a single step like many other former colonies, instead taking a century to do it in baby steps, but it is happening.

Until the head of state is a Canadian, and Canadian faces appear on coin and currency, this country will still be juvenile.

What?

Double what???

REALLY???

You say "Canada has a queen because certain large segments of our population see themselves primarily as British first." That's funny, I'm Canadian, most of my friends are Canadian, and none of them seem be a part of this "large segment" that you speak of. Try reading the history regarding the many countries which still have the Queen as their figurehead. I'm sure those countries do not see themselves as primarily British first either.
Good grief, how rare it is to even meet a Canadian who has ancestors from Britain, what a foolish thing to say to yourself in your head and then actually type and click "post".

Hey look everyone! Proof of time travel! Because it would appear this review was written in 1867.
I would like to inform this poster that Canada is classified as a Constitutional Monarchy. Other countries with the same governmental structure include: Australia, Japan, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Spain and, of course, the UK itself. I would describe none of these countries as "juvenile". It should also be noted that many of these countries are former British colonies.
Also, the Canadian $5 bill features former PM Sir Wilfred Laurier, the $10 bill features 1st PM Sir John A. Macdonald, the $50 features former PM William Lyon McKenzie King and the $100 features former PM Sir Robert Borden. Each of these men were Canadian. Also, I'm fairly certain the beaver on the Canadian nickel is a good ol' fashioned Canadian beaver. But I guess you were only looking at one side of the coin.
(And, just to nitpick: In 1953, a Canadian law, the Royal Style and Titles Act, formally conferred upon Elizabeth II the title of "Queen of Canada". This role is separate from the role of Queen of the United Kingdom. It is, in fact, incorrect to refer in the Canadian context to the family of the monarch as the "British Royal Family", despite Canadian and other media's tendency to do so. Thus, Elizabeth II and the rest of the Canadian Royal Family ARE Canadian citizens.)
Finally, I have been a Canadian my whole life and I don't know a single person born in Canada who identifies themself as British first. Sure, on St. Patrick's day we all say we're Irish, but that's really just an excuse for hooliganism outside of hockey.
I know that what I have to say means nothing to you because your mind is already made up. I just want to encourage you to think critically and to never stop seeking information. No situation or opinion is as simple as it first appears.

Mrs. James Stewart!! I THANK YOU, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart!! FINALLY, someone who actually knows, not only the TRUTH & FACTS but has taken the time & effort to POST it HERE!! Now, (unfortunately) prepare for the forthcoming 'bashing'. Which is common practice for many, ESPECIALLY if they disagree. Seriously? I do thank you.
