2,085,402.25 US Dollars Budget?

godam i thought Horrofest is for independent film makers. regardless if it's good or not, it's still not fair.

Not necessarily that big of a budget. Most films in Hollywood go for at least 5-10 million and go up from there. Horrorfest is intended to reach out to people in the U.S and give them movies that normally wouldn't have gotten a theatrical release there. I mean come on how much money do you think hidden would have gotten in the U.S on its own? Would it have gone in more than ten theaters? Sure After dark pretty much screwed over the 3rd and 4th set of films by putting them in 50 theaters but its still more than some of them would have ever gotten.

Like Butterfly Effect Revelations. After the failure of BE2 it wouldn't have even gotten greenlit.

Zombies of Mass Destruction. Come on the name itself would have made people run away screaming in laughter.

Anything foreign language or from Brittain and Australia would have gotten pummeled by movies like Kick Ass and Alice in Wonderland. So sorry Voices, The Broken, Hidden, etc.

The Final. Teen revenge and the fact that Columbine is still fresh in some people's minds this would have been deemed sick and twisted before it even had a chance.

You see I don't think its really unfair Hidden gets into the fest with its budget but it certainly would have never done well as a U.S theatrical release.

i agree with a lot of your points. but the only reason this wouldn't of got attraction is because it's foreign . i am sure in norway it got exposure. 2mil budget for Norway is pretty big since the movie industry isn't as big as America's. so i think rather than this (which would've done fine if it is GOOD ie: dead snow) an american independent movie would've been more appropriate. and i love foreign films.
