i don't think leah was older than him -- bc Carol asked snobbingly (when they first got married) how old is she anyway? i think leah was younger than her 1st hubby, she married him when she was only 18, and he was older than her. leah and the brother were prob around the same age, she may have been 1 or 2 yrs older if that... i loved the movie- they had great chem; carol i couldn't stand she was so materialistic and pushing him to the altar. glad he fell in love w/leah :)

I think Jake was closer to 33 or 34. If he was doing his fellowship in cardiac medicine, then he would have passed his internship and residency. In one of the pictures with the two boys, it looks like there could have been between six or seven years difference in their age. I do think Leah was about 26, since they implied she was married around 18. I have the DVD and watched it several times.

Which would make him only 29 years old at time of death.
It would make him 39 at the time of his death.
