Did anyone else think the ghost scenes in this movie were realistic?

My husband and I did. In the scene where Lena is reading from her book - the scene she is describing is so realistic (in my experience) of an encounter with a ghost. Also seeing ghosts of people not long before they die. Did anyone else feel that way?

I so loved this movie. The scene where the fight takes place was amazing. I thought the three main actors were brilliant. I can understand why people may not have liked it though - it's so removed from most ghost stories in it's realism.

I liked this movie quite a bit. I admit, I felt there could have been more plot involved, but the ghosts were handled really well. I thought that it was scary in several parts, and it was very realistic as well. I also really liked the main character. He evoked a lot of sympathy from me.

I admired the movie for it's mature look at these subjects, but I was severely underwhelmed by the end.

That being said, the passage that she reads is exactly how I feel whenever I encounter the supernatural.

Given that there are no such things as ghosts, the concept of "realism" in this context is meaningless. Ghost stories are fictional. They may be entertaining, but don't look for realism. Personally, I took the 'ghosts' in this movie to be the products of dream state and hallucination.

The concept of 'realism' is 'relative'.

We who hear not the music, think the dancer mad...

I don't think they were as realistic as the aliens in the film 'Aliens'. They were really realistic.
