Is Fred Walters a real person?
Just curious did a bit of research and could not come across him--is he a combination of several people or is just a fly on the wall that history forgot

shareHe's a fictional character, but he seems to be an amalgam of Rosetti's brother, sister, the artist George Price Boyce, Wilkie Collins and the rest of the PRB other than the 3 founding members you see in this drama. I suppose its cheaper and easier to make them all into one super-character, but in a way it means he can't 'join in' properly in the drama as he didn't actually exist so therefore didn't actually do anything,. therefore making him seem more passive than any of the real characters above who actually had lives. He's just a plot device. On the other hand, he's so passive he's actually quite funny at times, a Mary-Sue we can all laugh at.
shareThanks
I was curious about when the other "6" were going to show up and your explanation makes senses as to why they have not
This is what is given on the wikipedia page, pretty much - Fred Walters is (I think) an amalgamation of Frederick Stephens and Walter Deverell - I may be wrong though.

Thanks Mrs Curry. I had always assumed Fred was just a creative device by
the writer to have a narrator telling us the story of the main characters.
Your reply encouraged me to do a google search and I found this:

This is my impression, I think you are accurate. :-) Pity though they couldnt give all the PRB their own identity.
shareNo, he's not real, just a dramatic device (although I thought the character was a bit pointless personally).
