Questions in the end (big fat spoiler alert)

I must have missed it (or they never explained it)...

(1) What happened to all the other babies? I expected to see the survivor with a gaggle of babies at the end (only half kidding) trying to track down their families. They were killed?

(2) What happened to the boyfriend? He died when the tires were blown?

(3) The police didn't bother to use the paperwork they found to locate the families of the others and notify them of their deaths/close missing person cases? The one police officer seemed to be in on it...I guess we are to assume they were all in on it?

Anyone else catch the answers to these? Thanks!

I'd guess the other babies were sold to the buyers who ordered them based on the mother's qualifications- singer, athlete, doctor, and so on. The last survivor's baby is a special option, as it were.

They showed a cop giving her the fiance's wallet, so he must have died when the car rolled. It can happen.

As to the third, if they were all in on it, they wouldn't have let her go, so we are left to assume they did whatever they would do in the aftermath, the movie just doesn't follow that particular storyline out.

That doesnt make sense to say that the last survivors baby is a special option, what is the athlete were the last survivor, and someone paid for that baby?

reply

Yeah! I asked the same questions at the end!

I expected for her husband to either find her and make a getaway with all the babies or he get killed trying to help her and she make it out with all the babies on her own.

1. the husband should have killed that guy at the hotel.

Yes he died when the car capsized, I figured as much when they never cut back to him to show what happened. :(

2. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER BABIES?? I mean thats kind of a waste to have delivered them, fed the, kept them alive only to kill 5 of them. If they did, thats really sad and *beep* up!

3. Did she confront her "adoptive" parents now that she knows the truth?

Basically the same thing happened to her that they did to her mother, thats NOT cool! They watched 5 women die aweful deaths and then killed her bith mother. Beth's life was a complete lie! A BIG ONE.

4. What did the cops do? Obviously there is paperwork going back several decades for kidnapping, murder, and other crimes.

This movie makes me want to watch my back when/if I ever get pregnant!

I am American btw :)

Obviously the director didn't have the same opinion. For once a guy didn't miraculously survive a car accident with just a little cut on the forehead. In reality people die in car accidents more frequently than in Hollywood movies. And thanks God the car didn't immediately explode either.

Agreed, although perhaps it was a budget issue but I'm glad they did it this way.

About what happened to the babies, well, that's up to what the viewers think. Maybe they were killed, maybe they were taken away when the good cops arrived and they are with their parents' relatives or other loving families now.

Apparently Andy Whitfield's illness got in the way of him being in all of this film so they had to cut his role short. I read the screenplay, and in it he shows up when his wife is about to be killed by the adoptive parents and kills the parents. Then he gets shot by that crazy old lady, than his wife kills the old lady, then it cuts to a few months later and shows them with their baby.

Really? Then even though I'm sorry he was ill (luckily he's doing great now), I'm glad it was changed, I like the ending this way much more.

Unfortunately, Andy did not make it, passed away on the 11th of September, 2011.
