Jewish couple buying Gentile baby from a Gestapo-gran in the 1970s?

Ok, can't help but notice that both movie's producers have Jewish names and the plot appears to have taken the cake.

There's more to it than meets the eye, actually.

A Russian-speaking, kinda Jewish-looking(male, named Boris, is 100% Jewish looking), couple buy a baby in Australia's outback in the 1979.

This is quite clever 'cause at the time only Jews were allowed to leave the USSR under the guise of returning to the Jewish National Home - Israel.

Many Jews, though, chose to head to the US, Australia, West Germany instead.

Did the movie makers tried to tell something there, or is it just a coincidence?

Why make the couple Russian-speaking, but not particularly Russian-looking then?

Maybe they're descendants of earlier immigrants...

Weird...what a freakin' weird conspiracy of a plot, some in-joke on the producers' part, perhaps?

Pinczewski is a Polish name. Those are some interesting points, regardless.

Samuel Pinczewski is more than likely to be a Polish Jewish name.

Hopefully, there was some idea behind all that mysterious couple, and they weren't making it up as they went along.

Jewish??? first off all movie producers are jewish(well most)
second, it should have been blatantly obvious to anybody who watches
any amount of action/horror movies that these were clearly meant to be
russian mobsters, and those guys can do what ever and go wherever,
and given that they were paying for a stolen baby from a mother who was
the best killer should have also been a clue.
you are reading way to much into this movie, and apparently also not enough.
