My review.

Got it on DVD yesterday:

It's basically a movie about Leslie Van Houten (google her) who was one of Charles Manson's "family". It takes us through her life, how she meets him, the murders, and the trial. Kristen Hager (the blonde in Alien Vs Predator: Requiem) is unrecognizable as Leslie and delivers a great performance for her age.

It was a very interesting film to watch with a lot of bizarre and weird sequences, great directing shots, and lots of cool scene transitions (there's a lot of them). The film really looked like a film from the 70's. The opening credits and music were some of the best I've seen in an independent film. But yeah, it really does look like a 70's flick. Kudos to how they made it look so authentic.

It wasn't really a gory film, but there was a very gory moment in the vein of Hostel 2. It involved lots of full frontal nudity, rubbing body parts, violent sex, and naked women covered in blood. The last shot of the movie was f-cked up too and very weird -- reminiscent of Sleepaway Camp. I also thought the home invasion murder scene they showed was quite disturbing and uncomfortable to watch. I dunno...the cold-hearted torture got to me, lol.

All the actors were mostly unknown, but delivered great performances. The dude who played Charles Manson was effin' good and gave a chilling and spot-on performance.

I'd definitely recommend this one. An independent film which is actually very worthy. A solid 7/10.

Anyone else see this?

I've just finished watching it and thought it was the biggest load of pointless garbage ever made.

The Manson Family story is one of the most fascinating real life stories in the whole of history. I've read and watched everything to do with Manson and the murders and the trial and there have been some really bad movies but this ranks right alongside the worst. Why make this film? It brings nothing new. There is enough in the story about the juror Perry to make a ten minute film, not near 90 mins. It tells us nothing about Leslie and most of what it does tell and show us is inaccurate, particularly the trial and the short scenes intending to build the background were as flimsy as can be. I was really looking forward to this but to say I was disappointed is a massive understatement. I gave it 2/10 as it had a cracking soundtrack.

I agree with the reviewer who remarked that this had a flavor of "Natural Born Killers" I was thinking the same thing. In fact, the reviewer (Larry-411) pretty much nailed everything that I was thinking while watching it.

It was stylish, engaging and told the story like it had never been told before.

Really, I enjoyed it. The only thing that was disturbing was that it was stylishly playing with an actual historical event of absolute reprehensibility.

Yes, Charlie Manson has become a pop culture icon with a twisted tale of sex, drugs and rock-n-roll while bands do covers of his songs.

With this in mind, I should find this as reprehensible as a kick-dancing number in "Holocaust! The Musical."

Aye there's some breasticle action and extremely brief full frontal. ;-)
