For the life of me, I can't figure out why the title is: "Leslie, My Name Is Evil". Does anyone know why it was named this/why the reversal on words?
Secondly, why did they change the "Leslie" to "Manson" in the title afterwards?
Because the girl's name is leslie, and the movie talks about the evil she committed.
It was changed to Manson in the US because they thought it would sell better to have a recognizable figure in the title.

shareActually, this is incorrect and an unfortunate misinterpretation that John Waters has also made.
If the movie was called Leslie: My Name is Evil (with a colon) then that would be correct. However, it is called Leslie, My Name is Evil with a comma as if some one was telling Leslie they were evil (Charlie, Jesus, Kennedy, her boyfriend Bobby - anyone from the patriarchy really).
This is reinforced by the opening credit song in which a male voice sings "Lessslieeeee, my naaaaammmmeee is evillllll".
A subtlety lost on John Waters and Lions Gate the distributor as well as most of the audience clearly.
