I know that didn't have much dance in the routine but HOLY CRAP THAT WAS AMAZING!!!

It was beautiful and elegant. I liked it a lot and wish it got higher marks, even though I know they didn't "dance."
But couldn't dance be relative, in accordance with country and custom?

True..and it seems the only thing exciting about this show are the performances that aren't really "dance"..that's kinda sad.

I don't know what the judges expected them to do but could you really see her doing anything more than what she did on his shoulder. It's a surface maybe a few inches across, a few inches wide, very uneven and constantly moving. I think the fact that she remained so still and perfectly balanced was more than enough. I doubt any of the other ballerinas they had on the show could have pulled that off.

When they came on and I saw she had on toe shoes - I thought - finally some real dancing. It was very good and I've seen them before (don't recall where) - but there was very little dance associated with it.

I wonder if there were any guideline regarding "dancing" given out to the countries? I'll bet Nigel is flipping out.

The show in general is terrible.

No seriously though. That was simply refreshing and amazing and made my eyes bulge out of my head. Dancing or not you guys what's easier??? DANCING SEDUCTIVELY ON THE GROUND WITH A BLANKET LIKE ARGENTINA? Or standing on point on a man's shoulder and bending your body as you do it. I should have just gone on this show myself as a stripper with a pole and done some sexy moves and shook my hips and won everything. So stupid and unfair.

If you go to youtube, you can find a few videos of this couple (well, to be fair, I'm not sure it's them, but seriously, how many couples are there out there who could do this!?) doing full dances. She even turns while on the top of his head. It's really incredible!

I think you type in something like "Chinese Acrobatic Ballet." Have fun watcing them--they're incredible!
