I had a unique opportunity to work with the groovaloos in a production of the Nutcracker. Last Evening they came to my ballet studio and taught a 2 hour class on how to perform some of their moves. They are all very nice and inspiring.

I don't see why Hip hop can't be as acceptable as Ballroom dancing.
I don't know too much about the technique behind either dance, but both seem to require a lot hard work and dedication.
Even if you don't like it, you should still respect it because the Groovaloos weren't born doing all those moves and tricks. They practiced as much as any other dancer, and in my opinion are doing a great job.
Hip hop is something unique to the US, just like the tango is to Argentina or the ballet to Russia.
Why not present it to the world?

i am a hardcore punk rock fan and i LOVE the Groovaloos. they represent America, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, in a good, interesting way. they are 10 million times better than the Chinese monks, and they present an original all-american dance and they KICK @SS.

I'm not a fan of hip hop at all, but the Groovaloos are FUN and they love what they're doing. And isn't that what dancing's all about? Perfection is ineffective if you don't enjoy it, and that's exactly what the Groovaloos represent. They have nothing to do with American Idol.

Whether you hate hip hop dance or not, you have to respect the creativity the Groovaloos have. They aren't just going out there and breaking and doing flips, as we saw last performance they told a story, put a story to life, had intricacies that many people probably missed. Fan of hip hop or not you can't deny the absolute talent and creativity they have. I love the Monks but to me it's more martial arts if anything. None of their performances are really all that creative or different from the last. I understand that they do stuff no one else can do but I think their creativity is restricted to their art, while the Groovaloos can create anything.
