I don't think so. I think they just come from really good schools were English is taught very well. Or they may live in an area where there are many english speakers
shareI think your intuition is correct. The Indian contestants (heck, even the judge) speak American English with an American accent.
BTW, the quality of the Indian dance was poor. Go to any large university in the US and you'll probably see better dance performed by the college students at a Diwali show or mela. In fact, I'm pretty sure the show just sourced the dancers locally. Amrapali Ambegaokar is actually a US-based actress listed on IMDB. She's not a dancer from India.

Yes, I can bet money that they're American. They did not dance like true Indians would (I'm an Indian dancer myself and I can assure you that there are better dancers out there).
LOL and YESSS Harold Van Buuren did look like a vampire! I love the accent. I wouldn't call him creepy though. I think he looks rather dashing ;)
