Which one should I watch? I heard they compiled the entire web series and added extra scenes to make season 1, so it seems like watching the tv show would be the best option, but what do you guys think?

I'm latching onto this thread because I have no idea how the canon/timeline works.
I've seen much of the web series and don't know what thes how really is cause i don't have showtime.
Is the show supposed to be an entirely new canon. From what I saw in a write-up it looks like the webisodes are being compressed and it's kind of a duplicate.
The first two episodes seem to comprise the plot of the first show.

Maybe I can help (two years after the fact)... It seems to me that yes, they have compressed the web series episodes into the television show, as well as adding some new material that *fleshes out* but doesn't change the show's existing canon. I'm fairly certain they go back and color in some gaps, which is definitely an interesting approach.
