Maybe a good movie but not for a fascist...

... As Sovie... Russian propaganda calls me a fascist I probably won't be able to enjoy this movie... The fact why Russians fought so fiercely in Brest prove again what kind of imperialist scum they were, no, sorry, are... First they occupied Brest, tortured and killed Polish officers that were stationed here, then they tried to hold it for eternity, as they always do... they never have enough land and always want to get their neighbours' land, never Russian lust for blood and mass killings ends...

I don't care abaout Vanya or Sasha who died at Brest. Why? Simple because, as Germans, they deserved it. Both occupied Brest, the sad fact is that Germans did it already in 1939 and then gave it back to USSR while both armies paraded alongside each other and drank vodka...

The regime of Putin and Medveded continues the old Soviet traditions... Soviet propaganda is everywhere, only in Baltic countries, Poland and Western Ukraine people know why WW2 happened and how it happened. And it's not about any glory... it's about two murderous regimes that raped and slaughtered ocuupied nations... There's no glory in Soviet WW2 win even if they make 1000 movies about their "heroics"... Maybe make a movie about Katyn, 1000s of tortured dead bodies in Riga, Vilnius, Tallin in 1940, burned villages etc....

the russians were as much the invaders as the krauts

So your openly calling yourself a fascist? Until 1917 revolutions, brest was a part of the russian empire and no they didn't invade brest, the nazi's invaded brest, and it was given to russia along with 50% of poland, Infact there was a offical transfer of power in 1939 to the Soviet Union, so your facts are *beep* up and politically motivated.

And as for modern propaganda by Putin and Medvedev? To who?

"only in Baltic countries, Poland and Western Ukraine people know why WW2" Yes, they know about the slaughter of millions of civilians under your fascist leaders.

And after your Katyn movie, maybe we can do a real story one about khatyn.

Your sick and twisted events of history make me sick to my guts, I wish the german army had put up a better fight so that my country would of nuked the *beep* out of berlin instead of japan.

And before Russia took part in carving up Poland during the partitions, Brest was Polish. Nazis invaded, and handed it over to their Soviet allies. Plisowski was the first defender of Brest not even two years prior. He fought against the Nazis and their Soviet allies and was executed at Katyn.

Occupied Brest fortress? How can you occupy your own country?

The eastern parts of Poland were inhabited by russians, they were russian territories occupied by Poland since the WW1 defeat.

Poland intervened in the russian civil war and fought a war against the red army. But I don't blame Poles for that. I blame their silly rulers, and feel pity for people who continue to support them and vote in modern day Napoleons. Hell, you even have those silly costumes to celebrate your aristocratic past and bourgeois present. You got what you wanted, now you have huge unemployment, religious fanaticism, and nationalism that focuses all your frustrations so you can blame your own mistakes on others.

Where is paradise-Poland today, now, when the everyday workers are just throw-away butlers for their owners?

And where was paradise-Poland when Pilsudski imprisoned political opponents at Brest? The Soviets liberated it!

The population of the area had a Polish majority during the partitions (which makes sense considering that Kresy was an important part of Poland for hundreds of years). There were quite a few uprisings against Imperial Russia. The Russians did manage to finally quell the rebellions by resettling the population at rifle point and sending masses of people to Russian prison colonies behind the Urals.

As far as Poland today, it's doing better than the majority of countries that were under Soviet occupation.

Yes euromullet, evil russian empire forcefully took over that part of poland..... What you're forgetting to mention is that Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth was a dying empire that was being carved up on the chopping block by Kingdom of Prussia offering protection to them for successions in land, due to Prussia's fear of Russia's growing power.

With the fear of a three front war looming between Russia Austria and Prussia, it was decided that Poland-Lithuania would instead be divided up, Poland-Lithuania having no power was unable to do anything and peacefully ended it's existence with King Poniatowski being nothing but a figure head long before the end.

As for the "uprisings", they were common throughout the 1600-1800's all over civilization due to what we now call "Age of Enlightenment" which the common people grew in intelligence, culture was spreading, Idea's were commonly shared between groups, This marked the end of the monarchies.
