Tribute by Nora Roberts

I'm an avid reader of Nora Roberts and was really looking forward to having the time to see the 2009 collection (I missed out on 2008's).
Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY disappointed!! The acting was horrid! Not just Brittany Murphy, but almost everyone on this show. My husband, who watched with me said, "Seems to me, they didn't spend a lot of money on the actors".

Now with the amount of money Nora Roberts's books gross and the fact that they have filmed several movies 2 years in a row has to mean something! This is the first of Nora Roberts films that I have watched. I DVR'ed all the others movies including last years which they decided to re-run. I don't have that many high hopes now =-(

Last years were good. Angel Falls, Carolina Moon and Blue Smoke were all well done with decent acting. Montana Sky surprised me by being my favorite, the 3 sisters were well portrayed. This years movies were so-so. Midnight Bayou was one of my favorite books but wasn't as well cast as I would have liked, so the movie wasn't horrible, but not great either. Northern Lights I did enjoy, but again, LeAnne Rimes wasn't the best casting choice either. High Noon was probably the best of this years movies, which is too bad because Tribute is the one I looked forward to most. I think Brittany Murphy was terrible in it, and it could have been so much better.

Horrible horrible movie. Cilia and Ford were terribly miscast. Jason Lewis and Brittany Murphy's acting was atrocious (he was slighty better and nice eye candy) I know the movie is never as good as the book but I was terribly disappointed.

Of the previous bunch, Carolina Moon and Blue Smoke were the best. Of this years, I enjoyed the first three, but Tribute was awful. The worst of all eight films to be honest.

I agree with you, ID4, about Caroline Moon. Watched it last night with hubby and it was good. Oliver Hudson did a great job playing Kade.

I did see Blue Smoke and wasn't that impressed. But I guess I wasn't really looking forward to it much. Blue Smoke is the least of my favorite Nora Roberts books.

I DVR'ed a bunch of the NR collection movies this weekend and I saw Midnight Bayou last night. Not half bad. I'll watch Northern Lights tonight after I watch Fringe (one of my faves).

I still think Tribute is the worst so far.

I agree about the book Blue Smoke. I think that's why it took me by surprise when I liked the movie. I wasn't expecting much out of it, so what I did see was a pleasant surprise. This is kind of the same reaction I had to Northern Lights. Didn't like the book, but enjoyed the movie. Of course, it helps that Eddie Cibrian is ridiculously appealing.

P.S. Fringe is one of my favorite shows too.

Another Fringe fan here! Yeah Eddie Cibrian was the only saving grace of Northern Lights. Loved him all the way back to Sunset Beach,LOL!

I happend to watch this for lack of anything else on at the time and while I didn't think much of the movie, I have to agree with your opinion on Eddie Cibrian - ridiculously appealing is right! Something unidentifiable has always bothered me about LeAnn Rhimes, but I could easily look past her to see him!

I don't think any of the movies were that great. Nora Roberts books did not translate well due to the amount of money they had. The movies were only 2 hrs long w/ commercials so a lot had to be left out. Maybe if they had the budget as the hollywood movies that would have been better. I love Montana sky the book my absolute favorite by her, but the movie was the worst. I felt so cheated. The casting was awful. Out of all of the 8 movies I liked Tribute the best and they is probably only because I haven't read that book. If I had I am sure I would have been disappointed. Northern lights was a good book. Who ever decided to cast Leanne Rhimes should be shot.

Out of all 8, I had the highest hopes for Tribute and was the most disappointed in Tribute but hated Northern Lights the most...that made sense in my head so I hope it made sense there. I thought they did the best job with Carolina Moon and Angels Falls followed by probably Blue Smoke and High Noon and then maybe Tribute, even though I was I was the most disappointed in it, it wasn't the worst of them all. Northern Lights and Montana Sky get that honor. Montana Sky solely for the Nate WTF moment LOL

I bought tribute on a whim and absolutely loved it. But this movie is awful!
For a start i'm halfway through and they haven't even mentioned Cilla's mum or dad.
Also, Murphy and Lewis have no chemistry and it's so frustrating!!!!!

Try "Angels Falls" with Heather Locklear. I have not read the book yet, but enjoyed the movie.
