Their Lips Never Actually Touch

I've watched this film several times and I notice that not once do you see Brittany and "Ford" actually kiss on the mouth. The camera will either cut away or else her hand is placed strategically so that you cant make out that they're kissing to the side of each other lips.

Was one of them sick? I've seen Brittany kiss in other films, but this one is way different. Just led me to be curious as to if maybe he or she were sick at the time of filming, or maybe Brittany's husband didnt want her (actually) kissing him?
