why is this such a bad career move for brittany?

lifetime movies arent the cheesy lame crap they used to be. yes they are still not the best movies out there, but they have a lot more credibility than they used to.

i love brittany murphy, but when did she even have a GOOD career? i dont understand these articles saying she ruining her career by starring in this. what would she be ruining even? was "just married" her prime?

and those articles have also mentioned her career was already going downhill. she was amazing in some of her more recent movies. she deserved some major nominations for the dead girl. seriously.

tons of credible actors have appears in lifetime movies. sigourney weaver was just in one. that doesnt mean her career is ruined.

i hope this movie turns out well. the others so far havent been that good, but i think this one looks better from the beginning.

I haven't seen any of the articles saying it's ruining her career and can only judge by what I've seen from the treatment of the OTHER movies on Lifetime (specifically Nora Roberts movies)..they're filled with has-beens, never-beens and wanna-bes. I think maybe it sends the impression that she's a has been to people who look at things like that maybe? I don't know..I'm just throwing it out there. I can't really think of a single career that's been jump started by a Lifetime movie, though on the flip side, I can't really think of one that's been tanked by one either.

yeah lifetime just seems like a place where actresses can go and try to make some money, it won't hurt or help their career.

Ok for those people who say this movie is a mistake for Brittany they need to sit down and read the book first maybe this could be a good part for her then or maybe she read the script and went "hay this sounds like it could be close to my life right now it's a good idea" the movie is about a "as-been" actress who has a different life than what other people want for her. i'm nearly 1/2 way thru the book and hope to be done before saturday night. out of all the Nora Roberts movies to come put the past month this one is one i'm really looking forward too and can't wait to see how she plays this part. I do like her as an acress and hope she brings to the small screen what i see in my head wile reading it.

It was a great book, but then they all are LOL But the difference is Cilla, in the book, doesn't want anything to do with acting anymore, while Brittany quite obviously does, so I'm not sure I see QUITE the similarity that you're driving at. I AM hoping that they'll do this one justice as they HAVE been getting progressively better (thought I am sorry to say that it would be pretty hard to get worse than what they started with this year). And it does seem that this particular book didn't have all the huge backplots the other ones did. It's a pretty simple story. Pretty straightforward. I'm..hopeful. And..unlike a lot of people who are griping over Brittany's body type, I don't think it's that big a stretch from Cilla to Brit. I can, if do a little metaphorical squinting, see Brit swinging a light sledgehammer.

Yeah, I don't know why people are saying that. Lifetime movies aren't all bad. This one happened to be not so good, but I don't see any reason for her not to have done it. Every once in a while, Lifetime makes an incredible movie. The first one to come to mind that has a famous actress in it is Debra Winger in Dawn Anna. That movie was great. And it's not like once you do one Lifetime movie that's all you can ever do. She can still make big movies or whatever she wants.

Dianne Keaton had a good one too - about a drug dealer, I think it was called "Ice."

reply

Yeah, that was excellent. On Thin Ice or something like that.

I think you agree now that it really was a bad career move for her.
