How bad was the hair?

The hair throughout this whole movie distracted me. I kept thinking where did they film this movie Hell's Riviera, where the humidity must have been 1000 percent. I noticed that no one is credited for hair. Either they were too cheap to pay for hair or the person opted not to be credited.(The whole hairdressing department pulled an Alan Smithee.) Poor Brittany Murphy should have hired her own hairdresser and asked them to remove that inferior weave job.

I agree. Why did it look so freaking dirty???

And Jason looked flawless as always. They should have cut her hair despite how the character in the book looked. She needed some sort of updated look.

I AGREE!! THE HAIR WAS TERRIBLE!! KNOTTED LOOKING, DIRTY, UGH, TERRIBLE! I NOTICED THAT RIGHT AWAY!

What made it worse for me is that I used to do hair for film and television. I was wondering how was it that they weren't called in and screamed at or fired. I mean, if you don't do good work you hear about it from the actor, the cinematographer, the director and sometimes even a producer. That job isn't like a Supercuts job it is highly coveted you bring your A game. Now that isn't to say that every once in awhile you get somebody that is a "special friend" of the producer and results vary. But I never seen anything this horrific it was like a student film.

For me it was her eyebrows, I mean she had catepillars going on up there!!
Did she have any work done? She looks like she has been stretched a bit.

The "catepillars" and the bird's nest bothered me, along with her lips (they were not like that in "Clueless"), and her acting..... SHE just bothered me.

I really liked Brittany's role in "Clueless" and "Don't Say A Word", but this was just...yuck!

I'm sounding like a hag, I know. This movie was really awful (I was hoping it would've gotten better) that I lost interest in the story line and started noticing other things. I need to be grounded and sent to my room, LOL!

Oh I totally agree with all of you. I tried to get into this movie but it was impossible due to being distracted by her horrible HAIR! To me, and I just say this because I have curly hair and use hair products to keep my style (and I know what happens if you use too much, lol), it seemed like she had tons of hairspray in it to the point that it was crunchy looking and stiff. It was horrible, and the worst part is that Brittany Murphy is much prettier than they had her looking in this film. Jason Lewis was ok but slightly creepy to me. I think this movie was miscast and seemed like a lot was left out. It fell short. IMO, the only GOOD Nora Roberts made for tv movies so far have been Carolina Moon and Angels Fall. The rest have been total crap. That's pretty sad considering I know the books are ten times better.

I chalked it up to her not having a working shower because of the renovations; didn't she take a quickie "bath" in the kitchen sink with water & a squeeze of lemon juice (?!) And, yeah, I too think she had some work done on her lips. Just sayin'...

Did you notice that they put her hair in a bun and then in practically the same scene that gave her that lopsided ponytail? I was like "Oh for crying out loud." They could have made a quick trip to the drugstore or beauty supply store and bought a $10.00 ponytail.

One more thing about hair, did you notice that when the villain was walking BM to her house that the height and style of the older woman's hair changed 3 times in the same scene. After ringing the doorbell it was parted in the middle with a little teasing, then on the path it was like combed back with too much height and then in the house it was parted on the side like a freaking pompadour. I was like what kind of schizophrenic hairdressing is this?

I never noticed that, good eye!! Normally, I catch that kind of stuff. Under other circumstances, I'd watch the movie again to catch it...but you couldn't pay me to watch "Tribute" again. Well, you could... LOL.

I worked on this film and FYI her husband Simon does her hair and makeup. He has like a ginormic can of aquanet on him at all times. It was like he wanted to create a little hole in the ozone just above her head. How sweet! AND her lips are not that big! He just outlines them to hell. She even commented on how huge he'd gotten them like she was proud. Um ew!

omg! her hair bothered me so much. at times i cldnt focus on the movie-my eyes kept wandering at her hair. it looked dry yet greased up and looked like it was smelly.

Hair, eyebrows, fish lip....all very annoying.

reply

ugh i agree. her hair was SO distractinggggg

reply

I TOTALLY agree! I couldn't get into it at all because of her hair! It looked like she was balding, AND like they put too much product in whatever she had left and said voila! On with the show

Yeah just finshed saying in another thread (44 people gave this movie a 10 thread) that her hair and brows were just out of controll in this movie. Im not sure why they couldnt wash her hair and bushwhack the groucho marks eyebrows before filimg.

The lassie looked like death warmed up. She was emaciated looking, terrible hair, looked completely wasted and spaced out. In fact, I'm surprised she lived so long.

wtf

OMG, yes it was bad. That is all I keep thinks was does she wash her hair or comb it. Plus her eyebrows what the hell. She was a pretty girl, but damn find a person to help you or look in a mirror. If I was an actess I would have cried after seeing one scene.
