IS GREAT GATSBY A MASTERPIECE OR JUST A CLASSIC?

How do you define a masterpiece? When you come back to it again and again, find something new everytime, never bored by it and it feels like perfection.
A classic is however when it shortly falls to level of masterpiece.

Great Leo. Perfect GATSBY or even better. Holding a simmering volcano under calm demeanor which explodes only once but what a burst that was.

Tobey with his haunting puppy like wonder filled eyes, his silent worship of a flawed but amazing man...I was amazed how Tobey was able to show his disgust towards shallow world with a frown. Spiderman i love you even without your mask. Acting without dialogues, with only stares, eye movements, body language...a true class act.

Movie pace, perfect. Not a single dull moment. Perfection in invisible editing. Look of the movie- truly gorgeous. Never saw such opulence of rich class since TITANIC. Music- One of the best hollywood score ever. Personally its my favourite best.So Rock and rap was not in 20s?? Who cares? THIS IS HOW MUSIC SHOULD BE WOVEN IN MOVIES. Just try to notice how TOGETHER song starts, lights dims, camera goes slo mo. PERFECTION AGAIN!

Laz is one filmaker who can put audience on the hook and never let them go till end. He knows how to take audience on a rollercoaster, when to speed up, when to slow down, when to build up momentum and when to let go. Personally i was not able to find a single fault in it but still wont call it a masterpiece. I'll settle for classic.

it was alright on a technical level, thats it. the story itself was rather boring.

i call a film a masterpiece, when it is so impactful, that you sit there even minutes after the end of the credit, trying to piece yourself back together.
