Dicaprio vs Redford analysis

I find it interesting how Leonardo Dicaprio and Robert Redford played the role of Gatspy similar to how they've played most of their roles throughout their careers. Redford was calm, collected and elegant. He played Gatspy with ease and authority. Dicaprio on the other hand was charismatic, impassioned, and outgoing. When I think of their work, this is what I see from the two in most of their films. Leo has been nominated for awards so many times because of the vast emotion he brings to his roles. Redford is very understated, and it's often just the way he gives a look or says a line that does makes you feel something as a viewer. I can't decide who's better because they are so different. And having never read the book I believe it's simply about what I see on screen. Both impressed me for different reasons and looking back on both of their careers, it's easy to understand why.
