Ugh Mayo....

I see so many famous recipes and restaurants put it in their food, but I HATE it. Makes me wanna puke every time I see it slapped on a dish.

Who else agrees? The inventor of mayo needs to die in a fire, and I refuse to date any chick that 'loves it'. I go to Subway sometimes and see these fat ***es coat their sandwich with it and nearly throw up all over the glass right then and there.

God watching a man vs. food eps. right now with this crap all over the place. Looks like some bangbros p*rn star blew his load all over the sandwich.

^ Lol.

And yeah, I hate mayo as well. Some people I know seem to put it on everything, including pizza.

I don't mind mayo on certain things, but in very moderate amounts. The smell of mayo alone is actually disgusting. If I were to eat a club sandwhich, a bit of mayo is fine with me--but certainly not a generous amount. In fact, I prefer less than the normal amount. I almost have it more for balance out the dryer elements.

I like mayo on my hamburgers, turkey sandwiches, and cheese sandwiches

I once ordered for lunch a ham, cheese and tomato roll. For starters, the guy didn't know what mayo was, and then he put it on like it was tomato ketchup! I like a small amount of mayo, but this really made me sick and turned me off mayo for a while.

reply

Nope. I love mayo. Thank you to the creator!

Mayo is what kids use on their sandwiches until proper mustard is discovered...meaning either east coast deli mustard or authentic Dijon.

I used to hate mayo, (probably due to my aversion to eggs) and only started eating it about a year ago. I only use it in small amounts when I want a little bit of creaminess. Mustard is great, but it can be too tart/spicy and not the flavor I'm going after. But a little mayo on a sandwich or in tuna salad can really add a nice dimension. I often mix other ingredients with mayo, like a mango-chipotle sauce that I have is great stirred with a little bit of mayo. I've learned that the "secret sauce" most restaurants have is mayo based anyway and if I can tolerate that, all I have to do is make my own sauce and mayo becomes much more palatable.

Mayonnaise isn't bad when it's mixed with other things. It's in a lot of sauces you probably eat and you just don't know it's a mayonnaise based sauce. But I thought it was pretty foul when that one Maine restaurant on the show made a lobster sandwich, which looked delicious, until they put a big glob of mayonnaise on it. Anyway, I'm sure the inventor of mayonnaise is dead and has been dead for hundreds of years.
