Rewatched (a ramble)

I watched this for a second time last night. The only reason I knew I'd watched it before was my rating on IMDb. I must have enjoyed it because I gave it 7 - but I had zero memory of having watched it and nothing came back as I rewatched it. Either I'm getting senile or must have been in just the right mood that first time. It's OK, everyone is watchable and attractive, it's gently funny and I enjoyed it well enough though I changed the my rating to a 6.
It's a little bit interesting how your enjoyment of a film depends on your mood at the time and that it changes over relatively short periods of time.

As I wrote a very poor review on IMDB, I too was conceding that "I may have not been in the right mood for it", because with this cast, I would usually give it the benefit of the doubt, and just force myself to enjoy it, or fool myself into enjoying it.

But I could not.

There were a few chuckles with Owen's toothbrush drawer and "morning after" clothing, but that was about it.

It is certainly not the best movie of all time. But I hear what you are saying and I think mood really is important. Offbeat movies with not a clear plot like this one which are more about slice of life moments have a calming effect. I watched it on a stressful day and it really helped me, but at the same time I recognize it's not some masterpiece of filmmaking. 7 is definitely a fair score for it.
