Cast + Crew = 10 Oscars?

Jack Nicholson: 3
James L. Brooks: 3
Janusz Kaminski: 2
Hans Zimmer: 1
Reese Witherspoon: 1

I can't count more, is there more?

PS: editor and production designer own 4 noms each already, and this can be their win!

This movie looked pretty good (because of the talent, really both in front of and behind the camera), but it's getting pretty middling to bad reviews. Not that that necessarily means anything, but I think between the reviews and the news of the budget this will surely be a disappointment.

Who reviewed it? seriously! Not a single review from someone who is actually a "film critic",
currently on RT: zero review, 93% interested to see.

Of course people's "interest" does not tell anything about the quality of a film neither the number of the people who go out and see it.

I am sure this will not be a major box office hit; if it hits 150M mark it'll be above even the execs expectations, if you ask me. MAYBE two or three oscar noms, for the award season, and a stable rating of about 7.3 on imdb. That's what I predict. And it is not a disappointment.

Well, no point in arguing hypotheticals, but now that everything is said and done let's recap:

1) around 50 mill worldwide on a budget of over 100 mill.
2) top critics on rotten tomatoes is 35% (audiences on that site gave it only 27%)...
3) on this very site it seems to be "settling in" at a 5.3/10.
4) zero academy award nominations.

I would imagine between the critical and box office indifference someone involved with this production was in fact disappointed.

That was actually when I had only read the script!

Did you end of seeing the movie? Was it better than reviews suggested? I didn't, so I can't truly throw in my own opinion... If so, what did you end up thinking of it?

Sorry, I don't know what you mean here.

For me it was better than the overall tone of reviews but as I said the script had the potential to be better. In fact most of the changes to the script I read compared to the final version on screen were unnecessary and the movie seemed way too overcooked. Every scene seemed to had taken 10000 takes and every bit of charm in acting were squeezed out of them after the exhaustion of actors in front of camera. However lots of nutrients were in there still.
