Forgettable? I don't remember it in the first place

Jack Nicholson and James Brooks. They made one great film and one overrated film and now they've made a forgettable one. Doesn't matter. They're still legends.

I know that for you the great film is "Terms of Endearment", and the overrated one is "As Good As It Gets", but for me it's vice versa.
I saw "Terms of Endearment" again quite recently, and it was nothing, nothing more than a quite decent TV melodrama. Face it. The guy spent many years in TV. He couldn't make a first movie "betraying" his roots. Why this movie won all these big Oscars, is beyond me. Best Director? Over Ingmar Bergman? What day did they give the 1983 Oscars, April Fools? (Actually it was April 9th!)

On the other hand, I find "As Good As It Gets" Brooks' best movie, and I don't mean it's a masterpiece. Ok, the formula is the same all over again, but at least it reminded of a real movie.

Now as for "How Do You Know"... There is really no reason to discuss this, cause it's not a movie, not even a TV movie. It's like a LONG, BORING, POINTLESS...thing, in a shape of a movie. Watching it until the end felt like a big torture.

So glad you said that ! I'm NOT alone ! At one point I had to leave the room (as you do ) and when I came back I just couldn't get my head around the dialogue anymore. . I crept closer and closer to the t.v. because I just couldn't get what they were saying . I then switched off in bewilderment .

Then I had to get here to find I out 'what ...what was that !? '
