The most vague plot ever

So i'm watching the Today show and they announced that Jack Nicholson is gonna be in a new movie after nearly a decade out of the spotlight. They mention this movie briefly and it reminded me on how vague the plot of this film was. I also remember that the trailers to this film told nothing about what the story was about and just felt like a montage of rom com tropes, and i'm sure that's one of the factors to it bombing.

It was hard to sell it as a Rom-Com when there was zero chemistry between Reese Witherspoon and her two male pursuits. There were a few chuckles with Owen Wilson and his toothbrush drawer and "morning after" wardrobe selection, but other than that, it was a waste of time.

I ended up fast-forwarding through the final third of the film just to see which guy she ended up with.
