I guess it depends on your taste. It's a very moving drama, the cast is amazing, especially the two boys who play Christian and Elias. It's beautiful to look at, not only because of the the autumn scenery and colors of Denmark, but the artful, painting-like way it's shot. The musical score is haunting.

It's about relationships between spouses, parents and children, and friends. It's about how violence in the world, and (specifically for the boys) bullying affect them, and what happens as a result. I loved it, and would add it to my collection some day.

Also, it's subtitled, so if you mind reading subtitles, you may want to consider this. As with a lot of amazing foreign movies, after the first few minutes, I totally forgot I was reading subtitles.

I am watching this movie right now for the first time and have watched about twenty minutes of it; got one hour and forty minutes to go according to my Blu-ray disc player. I got the BlIu-ray from my local library for free. Anyway, if you like drama movies and reading captions in English, you may enjoy this movie. Parts of the movie is in English; however, the majority of the film, I would assume, is in Danish which is why you would have to read the captions in English. On a side note, I enjoy reading the captions out loud pretending I am the characters; I only do that if I am watching by myself. Even if you do not like reading captions in English, if you enjoy drama movies, I would give this a try. People who refuse to watch a movie that is not filmed in English (unless captions give you a headache which I head some people say it does which does not make sense to me) are missing out on a lot of wonderfully made films. I try to every one in a great while to watch a movie not in English. It is fun to watch a movie not filmed in a English speaking country. The United States is not the only country that makes great movies. I would recommend you watch this movie.

One of the great films of 2010 !
It won the Oscar for best Foreign Film 2010, beating two other equally great Foreign films that year in " Incendies' & "Buitiful". By the great Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier ( see also " Brothers' , "After The Wedding" & "Second Chance" for a treat). If you don't mind subtitles you should enjoy a quality screenplay, some great acting, cinematography, music, and a total sense of humanity !
