shareYes, it was implied that Anton had an affair. Mariane brought it up during one of their phone calls. Something like, "when you were here, you were always thinking of her" (paraphrasing). He admitted multiple times that he made a horrible mistake and was sorry.
I get the feeling that the whole mess with Elias & Christian brought them closer together, and that they would eventually reconcile, but it's not exactly stated at the end of the movie.
