why no accent?

Huge Sands of Time trilogy fan, and unlike some, I liked the Prince's voice in all three games.

Pop in Prince of Persia today and I'm shocked. Why'd they lose the accent? It added to the fantasy of this distant, magical land, and while I didn't think about it then, I do now. Now I hear American voices while I play a game in Persia.

It reminded me of Valkyrie, the Tom Cruise movie, where the only character with a German accent was Hitler. Go figure.

Maybe I'm too picky, but maybe losing the accent and giving the Prince all these stupid jokes delivered with, in my opinion, a stupid (poorly chosen) voice reduces my, the player's, immersion in the game.
