This game sucks

OK, so that was a little harsh but I'm mad because this game could have been great, like God of War on PS3 type great but it has some major pitfalls

1.too many do overs
a. you can't save at an exact spot. loading a game takes you to a game defined checkpoint
b. you can't die, which takes the challenge away
c. when you fall, it takes you to the ledge you jumped off of instead of where you fell or the nearest ledge, sometimes reulting in some long *beep* do overs.
2. sliding around you don't need to dodge anything like debris as the building breaks apart
3. battles are nothing more than button mashing, the combos are a joke
4. there are too few battles
5. the game on ps3 is buggy:
a. there is a part where you turn a wheel and have to turn it twice to get up instead of once on the xbox 360 version. YOu also wait like a minute before the platform moves, requiring you to hold the directional and o button down for a long time.
b. In the section of martyr's tower filled with the corruption elika doesn't follow you.
c. elika's compass does not always work
6. No new anything, no abilities, weapons, no powers. ELika's new so called power is just to open new maps.

This is just a good looking game where you spend 80% of the time running around. They could have made this game a near 10/10 but instead it gets a 7/10 for being a visually appealing game with great artwork. I'm still playing it so I hope the story will get better, it starts off really flaky like the developers pulled something out of their ass.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying here. Especially about the battles. The thing that made those 3 PS2 games fantastic was the freedom of movement style battles where you could do all sorts of flying tricks off the wall and slicing them open. Plus taking on 3 or 4 baddies at once was all part of the fun. So far I've only seen Virtua Fighter type closed 1 v 1's but with swords. Always on a giant circular stone platform too. Talk about monotonous!

Elika's compass seems fine a lot of the time, but sometimes it goes towards a gate entrance then comes back, which is ridiculous. I like all her involvement in the parkeur/running stuff though.

Also love the graphics, the backdrop, Princes movements, the dialogue between the Prince and Elika. A lot of things about this game are great compared to the PS2 games. Also like being allowed to decide what order you do the quests in. But too much about what made the other ones great has been taken away from this one. Sound track isn't as much fun either.

You can save whenever and wherever you want - you just have to select "Save Game". Otherwise it is pre-determined places.

You can, and do, die in this game. All they did was save you the hassle of saying "Yes I want to try again" and waiting for the level to reload.
