Strengths and weaknesses of the game

Prince of Persia is visually stunning. The relationship between the Prince and Elika was growing gradually. one couldn't tell whether it was friendship, compassion, love or any other thing. Also, the fights were graphically spectacular. However, one of the major flaws of the game is that the Prince is absolutely useless. Elika could do everything on her own. He was more of a burden rather than a helper or a hero. the game also grows repetive. Another major flaw is the lack of a solid story. I mean the 'purification of the land' well that could be a sub-plot, and it would have worked fine, but the whole game revolving around that is just not a good idea. Also, the game is too easy. I think Prince of Persia had the potential to be a great game. but it didn't quite measure up to expectations at least my expectations.

The relationship between the prince and Elika becomes clear as the game progresses. They often flirt when the prince helps Elika from sliding down walls (when you wait for her to finish sliding down), switching places on beams, and sometimes when they talk during the game. By the end, it becomes clear that they want to be together. Although I do agree that Elika could have possibly completed her mission alone, I disagree with the fact that the prince "was more of a burden rather than a helper or a hero". The prince often gave Elika words of encouragement, carried her through certain areas, had a sword and knew how to fight. Would she really have been able to fight the warrior or the hunter without a real weapon? I don't think so but, it's debatable I guess. The game can get repetitive when trying to get all the light seeds, but a lot of great games get repetitive. I totally disagree with your "major flaw" in the lack of solid story. Prince of Persia wasn't just about 'purification of the land', it involved the princes' story, Elika's story, her fathers, and her relationship with him. I do agree that the game was a bit easy. I would have liked a more difficult combat structure, more DLC, and definitely a sequel!!! All in all, Prince of Persia was an outstanding game in my opinion and the DLC for it will have to do until the Gaming Gods can work their magic, destroy a few more fertile grounds so I can heal them, and finally let me meet Ormazd so I can ask that jerk what was soo important that he had to forsake his people and let Arhiman escape!
