There is a lot of Truth in the Film
This film is not for everybody. If you tuned in for a zany comedy, don't bother. If you are happily married and have a perfect life, you probably hated it. But you might find yourself someday alone, in your forties, trying to date. Maybe then, this will resonate. One of the truths in this film is that you don't meet single available women in their 40's who look like Marisa Tomei, who don't have some sort of "Cyrus" driving men away and ruining their lives. I know this from much personal experience. This film hits so close to home, I was in tears.
Good sceenwriting, the juxtaposition of Keener's character and Tomei's (as mothering grown men) was brilliant. This film is a little gem.
