does anyone else actually like this movie?

Because I do. I've been liking it since the very first time I saw it. I mean, I like this kind of low budget movie with kind of dark story.
But I don't really get why people dislike this movie and so many negative threads here for this movie. That makes me sad.

I love it. So many awkward moments and great performances from all involved.

I love it. I think it's kind of amazing with how it captures how awkward life can be and O'Reily and Tomei are really amazing in it. I know it's not for everyone, though.

Yeah, I do. Seen it several times since it came out. Smart, funny and poignant indie.

Hell yes. This movie is hilarious and cool. I've seen it 3 times

Cool.

Yes, I really like this movie. I think it took some risks and when you take risks you can alienate some people. This isn't a paint by numbers feature. I have read the negative reviews for it and while some interesting points were made, I really liked Cyrus. John C. Reilly's desperate exasperation is so good. Marisa Tomei's is the parent blinded by love for her son. Jonah Hill was good as the manipulative loner with mommy issues. I thoughly enjoyed all the scenes with just them. No little boy wants to see his mother as a sex kitten. But should a woman have to ignore that part of her life to appease her grown son? It's just an interesting question and like how this film answered it.

yes I do..it is well acted drama..not a comedy..touching..

Yeah it's one of the better films by the Duplass brothers, who specialises on indie dramacomedies about peculiar people.

Shouldn't make you sad that other people dislike it though, they probably were expecting it to be in the veins of Jonah Hill's typical biggest comedy hits Superbad and them.
