Tom Cruise is awesome in this

That alone should cause a high rating. I really can't understand why it's so low. Nice story, cool characters (even the girl is quite bearable, you get used to her annoying voice), and most importantly, the songs! Everybody loves those!

But, again, Tom Cruise is awesome as Stacee!! Hahah! He's always the same badass in movies, so I loved seeing him as the crazy rock star. He really stole the show, in my opinion. But Alec was great too. :)

Tom Cruise isn't my favorite actor, and I was really hesitant to see this when I heard he was Stacee Jax. That being said, he was honestly one of the highlights of the movie. My sister (who refuses to watch anything with Tom Cruise) LOVED him in this.

So Kudos Tom Cruise.

She's missing out a lot then because he is in a lot of great films. I can't stand Leonardo Di Caprio but still watch his films because he is in a lot of very good films imo.

Can't stand Tom Cruise. Loved how Katie Holmes caught him - And the cult by surprise. BUT... Tom Cruise was great in this movie. Taking small rolls like Stacee Jaxx against type does two things. One, it shows he actually has talent and two, by showing he can act, it's a brilliant - and a tried true path - way to re-earn his credibility. That or anti depressants.

I agree. Tom Cruise had the right amount of Gravitas for the character, and his charisma brought more charm to the character.

"You killed my husband, Sam. Be kind to me."

Yes seeing him play a rock star was awesome!!!!!

Tom's performance is the ONLY good thing about this movie, still couldn't save it from a 3/10 for me.

His 80's frat boy image ruined it for me.

reply

Well that was the character. I saw it live and Stacee was portrayed the same way but I didn't get Frat Boy from it...

reply

Totally agree. Can't stand Tom Cruise, but the man can act, and he was awesome in this.

reply

Yes, Cruise is surprisingly convincing in this. The most interesting character besides Sherrie.
