Water Carry On

I didn't want to like this version of Reggie Perrin remembering so
fondly the original series - watching it as a 10 year old in 1976 was
an amazing experience. But Clunes dead-pan acting is fantastic and it's
as if this part was made for him. Some of the other characters aren't
so strong. The bloke from Game On as his boss dosen't work - nor does
Reggie's wife but I think Wendy Craig will end up stealing the show as
it progresses.

The canned laughter is often off putting - why bother? Lead Balloon and
Ideal work beautifully as comedy dramas without a laughter track and so
should this.

The Fall & Rise Of Reginald Perrin, Sykes,Fawlty Towers, It Ain't Half
Hot mum, Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads, Dad's Army are classic
BBC comedies that will never be equalled.

In episode two When Reggie is at the water tank he throws his cup into the bin only
for it to be back in his hand in the next scene when talking to the
lady. How this got though the editors gaze is anyones guess.
