It's on Netflix and I was just finishing Black Books for the .. I don't know how many times I've watched it .. and looking for something else from the UK I can laugh with.
I'm on episode 4 and I've been loving it. I've never watched MC in anything, but now I'll be checking out his other series.
I haven't made it to series 2 yet, how does it fair against 1?

That didn't last too long. I'm not liking series 2 much at all. What a strong start with series 1. The format has changed too much, the situations aren't creating funny phrases Reggie would say in series 1. Really sad about it. Series 2 has moments but not enough.

Watching episode 6 of series 2 was awesome. This was like season 1. I think the problem with series 2 is they made Reggie happy and content, finding himself. I've never seen the original series, but to me it seems like Reggie has to be sad, annoyed, and angry at the way life has been thrust on to him. Am I wrong? Episode 6 brought this back. Too little too late. :( Shame.
Watch doc Martin and Men behaving badly, they are good.
Aside from this you have to watch black adder, fawlty towers, and the original Reggie Perrin (the fall and rise of Reginald Perrin) 1976.
