First Byproduct of Pixar's Growing Popularity

It's a fun short, drags on a bit. It's yet another spin-off, not unlike Jack Jack Attack (awesome, awesome short) and Mater and the Ghostlight.

Burn-E is not funny, the voices are too whiny and canned, and the story is not interesting and surprisingly not that original. The entire short takes place over nearly half the movie's length, which means it jumps through "time" sequences with editing not seen since Harry Potter 4 and 5. It's simply the most disappointing, pointless short Pixar has ever put out. In fact, it's sole purpose was to be something new on the DVD, ontop of Presto!, which is a short of far superior writing.

I have a feeling that Pixar finally did something for profit for the first time. Because after the DVD collection of shorts probably sold reasonably well, if every future Pixar DVD is released with two new shorts, rather than the standard one, then the follow-up collection DVD will be released twice as soon.

I guess I'll have to let Burn-E grow on me. I've been an instant fan of everything Pixar's done until now.

There's nothing up with the audio quality. It's 2008, and that's how we make records — Lars Ulrich
