Reminded me of 'Slumdog Millionaire'.

Just saw this film. Loved it! It reminded me of "Slumdog Millionaire" all the way thru'. It's uplifting Docs like this one, that remind us of people's hope in the world, for the bettering of their existences. And, who knew that life used to be so free and NON-repressive in Afghanistan, of all places?
This film will make you laugh. This film will make you cry. This film will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. I can recommend it. And, it isn't just about a TV show televised in that part of the world. It's about the daily lives of a few contestants, their defiance against the Taliban, and you even get treated to the pop music of the day, which could not be more different that ours is, but, it is just as tuneful.
I loved the tune about the evil arch of someone's brows, ha!

I liked this so much more than Slumdog.

I loved both films. And that Dev Patel fell in love (in real life) with his film beroine, was really cool, too :)

Try not to gossip about who / what you don't know. Harsh words can be cruelly speculative.

It took me awhile to get into Slumdog for some reason. I didn't know that about Patel. That is cool!

I know, isn't it? I mean that I love it when movie stars, who fall in love in a film, actually mimic that "chemistry" in real life :)

Slumdog was a mildly entertaining movie, while this was a documentary of real life.
